Simple Sweet Soy Sauce Recipe (Gluten Free)

Sweet soy sauce is an ingredient often called for in many Asian dishes. Here's how to make this ingredient on your own. Next week I'll be sharing with you my favourite recipe using sweet soy sauce (dark soy sauce).

What you will need:

1/4 Cup  Gluten Free Soy Sauce
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar

Directions:

1.In a small pot add the brown sugar and soy sauce.
2. Boil the saucee over low to medium heat being sure to still regularly.
3. Continue boiling till the consistency resembles maple syrup. Be sure not to over boil the sauce.
4. Allow the sauce to cool. Sauce will thicken as the brown sugar/soy sauce mixture cools.

Quick Tip: if you do not have brown sugar around I have also tried this with white sugar so don't be afraid to substitute!
